White Bean Hummus

Do you love dips? 

I LOVE dips... I love using clean ingredient chips like Siete brand or sliced veggies as vehicles to get the dips into my mouth. 

Making dips like this one, classic homemade hummus, and cilantro-infused guacamole is a strategy so that when I am STARVING and HANGRY, I can find a satiating, delicious, and healthy snack. I swear by simple lifestyle hacks like just preparing for when you know you will be weak! 

Just keep it simple. Food is to be enjoyed AND nourishing. Yes it can be both! 

Let's do this... 

White Bean Hummus 


  • 2 cans organic white beans (cannellini beans
  • 2 small to medium garlic cloves, whole
  • 1 tsp dried or fresh oregano 
  • 1 tsp sea salt (My favorite it Celtic Sea Salt)
  • 1/2 tsp cumin 
  • Juice from 1 lemon
  • 4 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil 
  • Black pepper to taste 


  1. Put all ingredients in a food processor or high powered blender. 
  2. Process on high for 45 seconds to 1 minute, or until smoothe
  3. Taste and adjust for saltiness 
  4. Using a spatula, place into an airtight glass container (see below)
  5. You can put a little extra virgin olive oil, cumin, smoked paprika, and dried oregano on top just for taste and presentation. 
  6. Store in fridge for up to 4-5 days. 

You may have to hide this if you too have a hubby that consumes A LOT of snacks... dips like this one and salsa are his absolute favorites. If I want any, I must be strategic. Make enough and hide some for me! 

Feeding ourselves nourishing foods is a life skill. It takes time to change the way we eat and the way our taste buds perceive food. Did you know that they get renewed every 9 - 10 days? 

When we also make it a priority, we show our kids what it's like to live a healthy lifestyle... trust me they don't and won't follow suit most the time, but what they see us do, it SO much more important than what we tell them to do.
